The Dome Is On!

On Wednesday: Mike and Louisa hold the first panel in place, while Chris bolts it to the rotating ring. To give you an idea of scale, Louisa is standing on a ladder, 4 feet above the floor of the dome! The shutter is in place, and secured so it won't blow away. The last half hour of work was lit by one small trouble light, and two sets of car headlights.

The two sides of the dome are done, ready to receive the shutter.

On Thursday: I just had to go this beautiful morning to get a photo of the first dawn lighting the dome.
